SYDNEY, Australia — So many adults are spending their days colouring in the lines, pencil companies are struggling to cope with the demand for coloured pencils and felt tip pens.*
Staedtler, the German company which produces felt tip pens and coloured pencils, has seen significant growth in Australia as adults get obsessed with the mindful trend.*

The company increased its sales by 14% in 2015, with additional staff appointed and extra machinery purchased to meet the crazy global demand for pencils.*
The adult colouring trend has been growing rapidly in recent years, with multiple colouring books across the world hitting the top of the best seller lists. One example is Johanna Basford, a pioneer of the trend, who has published three books since 2013 and seen them all rise to the top of the best seller lists and sell more than 16 million copies worldwide.
