Plasma is often regarded as the least understood state of matter, but that doesn't mean we can't mess around with it. And it especially doesn't mean we can't make it play music.
Electromechanical engineer Proto G (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpTuKJrXFwybnpOG7HpTpZw), using a mixture of magnets and electric arcs, created a speaker that translates sound vibrations through plasma. With the right sequence, it recreates "House of the Rising Sun," the folk music classic that's probably about a brothel.
Proto G*has since uploaded a**ther video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d21csX4ZL4U) explaining some of the science behind his, "plasma arc vortex speaker." In case it wasn't clear, this stuff is very flammable. Read more... (http://mashable.com/2016/04/07/plasma-arc-speaker/)
