This past weekend New York chef*Darren Wong (http://www.raindropcake.com/) debuted the "raindrop cake" at weekly food market Smorgasburg (http://www.smorgasburg.com/), and the Internet loves it.*

The raindrop cake originates in Japan where it is called mizu shingen mochi (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCQUMAD-Jao).*The gelatin-like cake is made using agar (http://**te**ughcinnamon.com/2012/08/02/everything-you-need-to-k**w-about-agar/), a clear, animal product-free version of gelatin.*
