Donald Trump's truth is crazier than April Fools' Day fiction

Twitter collectively woke up Friday morning on April Fools' Day, hoping GOP front-runner Donald Trump would come out and say his candidacy was a rouse all along.
The Twitterverse didn't get its wish.
Instead, it woke up to a handful of political April Fools' Day jokes that fell flat — with many saying the truth of the 2016 presidential contest is stranger than any fiction a politician could cook up.
"Donald Trump is killing parody, along with our collective free time and my stock of desk bourbon," said Ben Ray, who works at the Democratic firm American Bridge that publicizes Republican gaffes on the campaign trail.
