IDOMENI, Greece — On the Greek border with Macedonia, Idomeni was once sleepy and picturesque village. **w, it's crowded and the air is thick with ***** from open fires and hundreds of flimsy tents crowded on the fields around the train station.*
But the trains have stopped running, and nearly 10,000 people — most of them refugees of war — are stranded here on the edge of Europe.
