Republicans offer 'prayers,' ig**re Trump after Brussels attacks

WASHINGTON — House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) offered his "prayers" for Belgium after the attacks there Tuesday but suggested ** new policies — and refused to respond to Donald Trump's latest calls to close the U.S. borders and start waterboarding terrorism suspects again.
"I want to express the condolences of the U.S. House of Representatives to the Belgian people," Ryan said during his weekly press conference in the Capitol.*
