The blossoming relationship between Cuba and the U.S. is **t yet out of its awkward phase.
U.S. President Barack Obama and Cuban President Raúl Castro shared a special one on Monday when, after their wide-ranging press conference, Castro tried to triumphantly raise Obama's left arm, but the president's wrist went limp.
Those who watched the press conference immediately wondered why.*Was it a mistake? Or did President Obama go limp on purpose?
The leading theory is that Obama wanted to avoid giving Castro his moment. The Cuban leader had just finished talking about human rights and denying the existence of political prisoners in the island country and that would've been just bad optics for Obama. Read more...
