How Twitter could still blow it and fade away into social network oblivion

Twitter was doomed.
The damning hashtag #RIPTwitter (http://mashable.com/2016/02/06/riptwitter-twitter-change/) stayed firmly lodged at the top of the social network's list of trending topics in reaction to a report that Twitter planned to inch closer to Facebook (http://mashable.com/2016/02/10/twitter-launches-new-timeline/?utm_campaign=&utm_context=textlink&utm_medium=rss&utm_source=) by overhauling its signature news feed with an algorithm.
