United Airlines is adding a seat to each eco**my row on several of its Boeing 777s, going from nine seats across to 10.*
Consider this just the latest in the airline industry's constant march toward adding as much capacity as possible. The 10-across configuration for widebody aircraft is **w considered the industry standard.*

The retrofitting will begin this May and be completed in 2017, according to Today in the Sky (http://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/flights/todayinthesky/2016/03/09/united-confirms-10-abreast-seating-some-its-777s/81519220/). The good news for passengers is the retrofit will also include the addition of power outlets at seats, and the aircraft will be Wi-Fi enabled. Read more...
