George Martin, legendary Beatles producer, is dead at 90

George Martin, the legendary music producer who more than anyone else defined and shaped the sound of the Beatles, has died at the age of 90.
His death was confirmed by Ringo Starr in a Tweet early Wednesday morning
The Beatles had been making music and touring extensively in England and Germany in the first years of the 1960s, but their successes were largely local and they were virtually unk**wn outside Europe. That changed almost overnight when Martin, who was head of the Parlaphone music label, signed them in 1962.
