This school principal is helping Syrian refugee girls, one chair at a time

When a Syrian refugee mother begged Principal Maha Salim Al-Ashqar to register her daughter at her primary school in the suburbs of Amman, Jordan, Ms. Maha apologized.
"I don't have space," she told her. The Syrian crisis has added tens of thousands of refugee students to Jordan's already overcrowded classrooms, and Ms. Maha's school — Khawla Bint Tha'alba Elementary School for Girls — was ** exception.
But the mother, who had been rejected by several schools already, wouldn't give up. So Ms. Maha struck a deal with her: "I will register your daughter, if you bring a chair for her."
