What happened to a simple "yes" or "**" RSVP reply?

Japanese Twitter user Toshihiro Anzai posted a picture of a wedding invite with the outline of a hand, offering the option for attendees to indicate if they were attending by drawing a finger pointing left or right.

To RSVP, guests had to draw an index finger pointing to "yes" on the left, or "**" to the right. The way the drawing is set up, it encourages the recipient to draw a finger pointing left — to say yes to the invite. The caption under the picture even reads: "Hard to miss!" Read more...
