It doesn’t look like the Oculus Rift (http://mashable.com/category/oculus-rift/) will be coming to Macs anytime soon, judging by the serious shade thrown at Apple by Oculus VR founder Palmer Luckey.
In an interview with Shack News (http://www.shacknews.com/article/93547/oculus-palmer-luckey-will-consider-mac-support-if-apple-ever-releases-a-good-computer), Luckey was asked if there would ever be Mac support for the Rift virtual reality headset coming out this month (http://mashable.com/2016/02/10/oculus-rift-pc-bundles/). His reply was cutting: “That is up to Apple. If they ever release a good computer, we will do it.”

This is a pretty bold statement to make about all Apple (http://mashable.com/category/apple/) computers, and while Luckey’s definition of “good” is a rather subjective one, he makes a good point. If you look at the video cards Apple uses, they aren’t built for playing games. Instead, the cards they use are optimized for rendering graphics in editing software, as Apple tends to cater to creators rather than gamers (http://mashable.com/gaming/). Read more...
