The Arctic is missing a chunk of sea ice the size of Texas, Arizona and Utah

Arctic sea ice is limping toward its seasonal peak, hitting a record low for the month of February on the heels of a**ther record set just the month before.*
The region — which acts as the **rthern hemisphere's refrigerator — was missing a chunk of ice measuring about 448,000 square miles, compared to the 1981-2010 long-term average, according to the National S**w and Ice Data Center.*
