Samsung isn't re-inventing the wheel here. The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge sport similar designs to the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, but with more refined details. For instance, the curved edges on the backside of the Galaxy S7 and the softer metal frame on the S7 Edge make them easier to grip.
