Ceterix **voStitch Plus Meniscal Repair System FDA Cleared

Ceterix Orthopaedics, a Mountain View, California firm, landed FDA clearance for its new **voStitch Plus meniscal repair device. Intended for repair, rather than the*common*meniscectomies, the device can allow surgeons to reach the meniscus from various angles to make repair easier to perform. Specifically, the system is used to place a circumferential compression stitch around the meniscus that can help maintain even pressure as the body heals the joint. Featuring a pre-loaded suture implant, the **voStitch Plus more than halves the number of steps required to use the device compared to the original model.
“The **voStitch Plus meniscal repair system represents a significant improvement to one of the most in**vative tech**logies developed for knee procedures in many years,” said James Lee Pace, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon and director of the Sports Medicine Program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in a statement. “The **voStitch device has allowed me to preserve the meniscus for many of my patients, significantly reducing their likelihood of arthritis or a total knee replacement later in life. I am looking forward to incorporating the new device into my practice.”
