Anti-ageing gets a revamp
http://img-s-msn-com.akamaized.net/tenant/amp/entityid/BBlJEja.img?h=100&w=100&m=6&q=60&o=f&l=fThere's a new movement online when it comes to ageing and skincare. The idea is that the term 'anti-ageing' isn't that beneficial to women because if there is one thing we can count on, it's that we're going to get older. Wanting to look as good as you can ** matter your age is one thing, obsessing about lines and wrinkles and how to stave them off quite a**ther. With this comes a new range of in**vations which are attempting to update how we care for skin as we get older. It's a case of people deciding they want more from their products and skincare companies listening, coming up with ideas that are fresh and fit into the modern way of life. Emma Hardie's The Midas Touch Face Serum is one of these, as rather than just tackling saggy skin, it unleashes a barrage of ingredients to fight the appearance of wrinkles, boost lumi**sity and glow and battle against signs of stress and environmental damage. It contains Edelweiss Miristem, which is full of antioxidants so is good for people who live in cities, a plant-based collagen called Pseudo collagen, which is natural, and wild banana for brightening and anti-wrinkle effects. It's also good for dry skin, as it stimulates the body's production of hyaluronic acid. Out next month is Filorga's Skin Absolute Day Cream, which offers something new in terms of beauty: it uses daylight to fight ageing in your skin. That might sound counter intuitive seeing as we all k**w too much sun can be highly damaging, but it works thanks to an enzyme that is activated by daylight and so helps cells repair themselves. The result is rejuvenated skin with fewer lines, dullness and age spots. A study found it boosts the collagen content of skin, helps with elasticity and helps keep skin strong so it can fight aggressors. And don't worry - it still works when worn with SPF. People with sensitive skin are often at a bit of a disadvantage when it comes to anti-ageing methods, as things like reti**l can be too harsh for them. Japanese brand DHC has come up with something to fit that gap: its Resveratrol range. Resveratrol is an antioxidant that's extremely potent and can help protect from environmental damage as well as improve the skin's barrier function. It's even been found to protect from things like UV rays, with the DHC line including a hydrating toner, moisture booster and moisturiser, which are all **n-irritating and even suit people with sensitive or reactive skin. Several make-up companies have jumped on the protection tip, coming up with colour cosmetics that also have some anti-ageing benefits. Rodial's new Skin Tint + gives medium coverage whilst also protecting against UVA/UVB rays and targeting imperfections thanks to the ami**-peptides. Perricone MD's ** Makeup Skincare offers benefits to your face as well as a subtle wash of colour, with its ** Foundation minimising wrinkles and pores and the whole range boasting an SPF between 15 and 35.
