http://cdn.medgadget.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/BIOTRONIK-ProMRI.jpgBIOTRONIK just landed the European CE mark of approval for*two of its pacemakers to be safe for use with patients going through 3 Tesla MRI scans, as long as exclusion zones are taken into consideration. This makes BIOTRONIK the only firm on the market with*implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) and pacemakers available to physicians.
The company*believes that 3T compatibility is important because these scanners will be*overtaking 1.5 T machines as far as availability in hospitals.
The firm has setup a site (http://www.promricheck.com/)where physicians can match the available and compatible leads to the implant they’d like to use in their country of practice.
