In one hour, he'd lead me and a group of enthusiastic participants in a Magic Mike XXL-inspired dance class; before the twerking, the body rolling, the hip thrusting, or the ground grinding could begin, though, I had a few things to ask tWitch. Things about twerking. Things about butts. Things about Matt Bomer's butt in particular.
Within a few minutes, tWitch returned from his coffee run, and we walked over to the two lone stools that had been set in the vast, dark yoga studio. Pushing his stool aside, tWitch says, "If you don't mind, I'm just going to sit down here and do some stretching."
"**t at all," I respond. "I'll stretch with you." I sat down, started my recorder, and started asking questions.
POPSUGAR: Whose dancing skills impressed you the most on set?
Stephen "tWitch" Boss: Oh definitely Channing, for sure. I remember sitting in rehearsal like, "Damn OK, I gotta really get in here and do my thing. I can't be half-stepping in here like, 'Yeah I'm the only dancer.'" It was great, though. It was superinspiring actually. The kid is talented, man.
PS: Was there anyone else who stuck out to you? In a good way?
StB: Absolutely, Matt Bomer. His voice alone is just like . . . he sings a song that's a classic, and he covers it and he kills it. He kills it. It's kind of amazing.
PS: ** way! That's great. I heard a quote recently, where Channing was talking about Matt's booty, too.
StB: How it's just plump and rotund? It's like his ass has the same definition as his chin. It's just a gorgeous little carving of what you would think that feature is supposed to look like. You k**w, his chin is just perfectly sculpted. When he wears dress pants, you're like, "Son of a b*tch."
PS: So for anyone who doesn't k**w how to twerk, is there a secret to it?
StB: Yeah, the secret honestly is: the lower, the better. The lower and the wider, the better. A lot of people try to stand, like, twerk from a really comfortable place. Twerking never happens from a comfortable place. You gotta be low. You have to astonish **t only those around you but yourself as well. You gotta drop it low. If your ass can actually scrape the ground, better.
PS: When it comes to twerking, is a good butt a necessity?
StB: I wouldn't say it's a necessity. I would say it is an added bonus for extra bounce. But you k**w . . . if you can work your hips with some strength and some low bend, you'll be good.

Like, everything. It was awful.

StB: **! She's asked me to twerk a little bit on the show before, and I did. But Ellen's great, she came up with her own twerking machine. She created these shorts with a built-in twerk system so she just does that.
PS: Did she ever do a dance move where you were like, "Oh damn, I want to do that"?
StB: Yeah, Ellen has a good sizzle style. She'll let it sizzle. She's **t going to come out and give you too much, so I learned that. Allow a little sizzle time. You can't just be throwing stuff in people's faces all the time; you gotta warm them up.
After the interview came the dance class. I did my best.
