Verizon LG G2 Receiving Software Update, But it’s **t KitKat
http://images.intomobile.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/lg-g2.jpgVerizon’s LG G2 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EZW9UXW/ref=as_li_qf_br_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creat ive=9325&creativeASIN=B00EZW9UXW&linkCode=as2&tag= intom-20) is getting an update today, but it’s **t the Android 4.4 update that we were hoping for. Dang. The update does bring some security fixes, adds a piece of Verizon bloatware and an improvement in video playback.
The update brings Verizon’s LG G2 up to version VS98012B.*Here’s the full changelog from Verizon:
• Video playback quality has been improved when viewing on websites
• Dialing *611 will **w appear on device screen
• TalkBack reads each deleted letter when using Messaging Keyboard
• Backup Assistant Plus resumes syncing after completing a voice call
• Device lockups have been reduced
• Viewdini application has been *******
• Verizon Cloud app is **w preloaded
• Messaging is **w supported via QSlide
• Voice quality has been improved
• Google Security ***** has been added
This update is great and all, but where’s our KitKat LG and Verizon? We recently heard that the Korean LG G2 would be receiving Android 4.4 later this month (http://www.intomobile.com/2013/12/16/lg-g2-receive-android-44-kitkat-update-soon-beginning-korea/), and then begin its rollout to other parts of the world. K**wing how Big Red takes their time with updates, it could be early 2014 before we see Android 4.4 KitKat land on the LG G2. Here’s to hoping!
