"Duck Dynasty" dad Phil Robertson has been placed on indefinite suspension by the A&E Network following his recent comments on homo***uality, the network an**unced Wednesday night.
"We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson's comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are **t reflected in the ****** Duck Dynasty," the network said in a statement.
Really? Phil Robertson's beliefs are **t reflected in the ******?

I live right near the beach and any time I go there in the summer I see lots of men and women in various forms of beach-appropriate dress. As a hetero***ual I find exactly zero of the men "bangable", ** matter how objectively "nice" they look, while I find a lot of the women to be "bangable."
GLAAD and others in the gay community have argued forever that homo***uality is **t a choice, it's who people are. I don't find that hard to accept at all; indeed, I can't find an explanation that makes any sense that includes "freedom of choice" in whether you're attracted to the opposite ***, the same ***, or both.
Why? Because it's quite-clear that being attracted to the same *** comes with very-significant difficulties in your life. For instance, you have instantly limited your selection of choices for a partner to somewhere between 3% and 10% of a single gender in the population (depending on who you believe for prevalence of homo***uality); this means instead of being able to choose from 45 and 48.5% of the people to sleep with you only get to choose from between 1.5 and 5%. That sucks, to put it mildly, when it comes to the odds of you finding a compatible partner!
Why would anyone choose to so-limit themselves by a factor of 10? **body would do that of their own free will, so it is only logical to conclude that if you have a penis and prefer penis to vagina, or if you have a vagina and prefer pussy to penis, it's because that's really what you're wired to prefer -- you didn't choose anything.
And what the hell, may I ask, is wrong with this?

And let me guess -- after you drink your liver into something resembling a crushed beer can and your pecker looks like it was stung by a thousand bees from lord-k**ws-what sort of disease you then have the right to "free" medical care paid for by stealing the funds from everyone else along with a liver transplant even though you have ** money and ** earnings potential because you destroyed both on purpose through your own hedonistic bullshit, right?

Further, I very much care when you start screwing over others. And most of this screaming is really about that, isn't it? Phil's own personal story includes exactly that sort of redemption -- he was married, had kids, and was one of those drunks that threw his wife out of the house, deciding that he loved the bottle more than he loved any of them.
And then, he came the conclusion that he was a stupid, drunk asshole, changed his behavior, changed his mind, begged her to come back and did the right thing.
And unlike Miley Cyrus who thinks humping things on stage is how you get ahead, he and his family made it big by doing the right thing up and down the line, from conservation to animal husbandry to family.
Does it offend you that he found all of that through a belief in Jesus? Why, precisely? Is it because it threatens your anything goes worldview? Is it because you're uncomfortable that he did the right thing? Is it because his decision to stop hiding in a bottle and trashing his family threatens your ability to destroy others?

What the hell does A&E think they were signing? It's **t like the family didn't tell them what they wouldn't compromise on up front. They did. It was clear. A&E traded on it, they marketed it, they paid the Robertsons for it (very well I might add) and they loved it so long as they could pretend that **ne of it was real.

So here you have a family -- a family that was being torn apart by secular hedonism that is all the rage in America today, the patriarch in the family decides to cut that shit out, he embraces Jesus, a time-ho**red (but hardly the only) way to get where he wants to go, he succeeds, he then goes on to live what he believes and the "media" wants to excoriate him **w that he's speaking his mind.

The ecology here has been so perfectly manipulated that it feels as if two giant hands reached down from the sky and molded the land itself, an effect that I’m sure would please Phil. Whatever you think of Phil’s beliefs, it’s hard **t to gaze upon his cultivations and wonder if you’ve gotten life all wrong. This is life as summer camp. It’s gorgeous, in a way that alters you on an elemental level. I feel it when I breathe the air. I feel it when I survey the e**rmity of the space around me. I shouldn’t be sitting around the house and bitching because the new iOS 7 touchscreen icons don’t have any fucking drop shadow. I should be out here, dammit! Killing things and growing things and bringing dead things home to cook! There is a life out in this wilderness that I am too chickenshit to lead.
