"The award adopted by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), in collaboration with King Saud University (KSU) and the Saudi Antiquities Association (SAA), was granted in recognition of the large and leading role played by Al-Ansari throughout his rich career, and the practical efforts that he made toward the discovery of a large number of archeological landmarks and monuments," an SCTA spokesman said Thursday. Responding to the ho**r, the members of Al-Ansari's family praised the an**uncement made by SCTA President Prince Sultan bin Salman, saying the initiative to dedicate an award in the name of the senior archaeologist in recognition of his efforts in the service of the heritage of the Kingdom is laudable and encouraging.
