Ramadan working hours for private sector in UAE

The ministry said the hours must be reduced with ** reduction in wages, according to a report by WAM on Monday. The an**uncement followed details on public sector working hours the day before. WAM said the an**uncement for the private sector came in a circular issued by Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Labour, under Article 65 of Federal Law **.8 of 1980, concerning the regulation of labour relations, and its amendments. The report also said the Ministry of Labour will maintain services to customers from 9am to 5.30pm during the Holy Month, except Fridays and Saturdays. The ministry said it applies flexible working hours for its employees to ensure service provision throughout the day. Ramadan is expected to start on Thursday or Friday. A Moon-sighting committee for the Holy Month of Ramadan has been set up in the UAE and is due to meet on Tuesday night after Maghreb Prayer.
