Australian teenager flees to Syria, joins terror group

Canberra, May 15 (IANS) The Australian Federal Police (AFP) on Friday an**unced that an 18-year-old boy from the state of Queensland, fled to Syria and joined the Nusra Front, the official Syrian affiliate of the Al Qaeda. According to the AFP, the teenager fled last month from his hometown of Toowoomba, 125 km west of Queensland's capital Brisbane, ABC reported. Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the news was concerning. "As a state and as a country we need to do more." Last month, former Queensland doctor Tareq Kamleh appeared in an Islamic State (IS) propaganda video revealing he had travelled to Syria to work for the terrorist organisation.
