Rdio is planning to launch a new streaming tier for $3.99 a month with specific limitations this Thursday, according (http://www.buzzfeed.com/williamalden/rdio-to-launch-cheaper-streaming-service#.pmX5vW3vq) to BuzzFeed. The news comes as Apple's*new streaming service, a rebranded version of Beats Music that may be called (http://www.macrumors.com/2015/05/13/apple-streaming-music-service-social-network/) Apple Music, gears up to launch next month.

The Cuperti** company is also planning to offer a range of exclusive content from artists, which could use the new social media tools to do so.
