The TV personality and partner of New York Gover**r Andrew Cuomo shared the news in a Good Morning America interview that aired on Tuesday. Sandra said she learned of her diag**sis during a photo shoot for People's Most Beautiful list in March. "And I walked off the set, and 20 minutes later my doctor called and told me I had breast cancer," she said. "I didn't even cry, I was stunned . . . You k**w, and that's just how fast life turns. It turns on a dime." Sandra told host Robin Roberts she credits early diag**sis with saving her life and urged young women to "get your rear end in" the doctor's ****** for a mammogram. "I'm 48 years old. I've got - I've got a couple years till 50," she said. "If I would have waited, I probably wouldn't even be sitting here."

"When the [surgery] was done, they did **t have clean margins," she said. Her radiologist told her she would have to undergo radiation for as many as eight weeks and suggested a mastectomy. "And so I said, 'OK. If I'm going to have a mastectomy, am I supposed to just get one done?' Both the radiologist and the doctor said, 'You're a ticking time bomb.' And they both said, 'You need - I would just get them both done,'" Sandra added. In a separate interview with People, Sandra got candid about how supportive Andrew has been, saying he will be in the room during her second operation this week.
