Apple has purchased Israeli camera tech**logy company LinX Imaging (http://linximaging.com) for approximately $20 million, reports The Wall Street Journal (http://www.wsj.com/articles/apple-buys-israeli-camera-tech**logy-company-linx-1429037790). LinX specializes in creating multi-aperture camera equipment for mobile devices and it's possible that Apple will use the company's tech**logy in upcoming iOS devices.
Last year, LinX an**unced the launch (http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20140605005713/en/LinX-Imaging-Takes-Mobile-Photography-Dimension-Aiming#.VS1e_s5OREe) of miniature multi-aperture cameras half the height of standard mobile cameras with the ability to create "stunning color images and high accuracy depth maps" for SLR image quality without the bulk of an SLR camera.
