Prince Sultan ibn Mohammed S. Al-Kabir, Almarai?s chairman, and Abdul Aziz Mohammed Al-Suwailem, KACST vice president for scientific support, were also present. The prince, who is also the chairman of the Supreme Council for the Almarai Awards, recalled that Almarai had been funding the scientific in**vation project since 2001 and has spent more than SR20 million to encourage researchers in various projects. ?We want other organizations to follow suit so that KACST can find funds easily through cooperation by the private sector,? he said, and pointed out that Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman is keen on supporting scientific research and tech**logical development through science, tech**logy and in**vation which will pave the way to a k**wledge-based eco**my.
