Apple today made one of its weekly updates to the App Store, adding a new featured category that highlights "Pay Once & Play" games in the App Store. As **ted by MacStories (http://www.macstories.net/news/apple-promoting-great-games-with-**-in-app-purchases-on-app-store-front-page/), the section includes a list of popular game titles that do **t include in-app purchases. The new feature has appeared in European App Stores already and should be making its way to other countries as the weekly update propagates.

"Pay Once & Play" offers a range of titles that are organized into the following categories: Recent Releases, Blockbuster Games, and App Store Originals. Some of the featured titles include Thomas Was Alone (http://appshopper.com/games/thomas-was-alone), Minecraft - Pocket Edition (http://appshopper.com/games/minecraft-?-pocket-edition), Hero Emblems (http://appshopper.com/games/hero-emblems), Threes (http://appshopper.com/games/threes-3), Blek (http://appshopper.com/games/blek), and Goblin Sword (http://appshopper.com/games/goblin-sword).
Games and apps with in-app purchases have gotten Apple into trouble on multiple occasions over the past few years, leading to a 2011 lawsuit (http://www.macrumors.com/2013/02/25/apple-settles-in-app-purchase-lawsuit-offers-itunes-credits-and-refunds-to-parents/) and a $32 million settlement (http://www.macrumors.com/2014/01/15/ftc-in-app-purchase-consent-degree/) with the FTC after children racked up hundreds of dollars in purchases without parental k**wledge.
Apple has made several changes to the App Store since the original lawsuit was filed. Apps with in-app purchases are clearly labeled, Apple obtains express permission for an in-app purchase in the form of a pop up, and it **tifies users that making an in-app purchase authorizes additional in-app purchases for 15 minutes.
Most recently, Apple changed the "Free" wording on purchase buttons to "Get" to make it clear (http://www.macrumors.com/2014/11/19/apple-replaces-free-button-with-get/) that apps with in-app purchases are **t truly free.http://rss.feedsportal.com/c/35070/f/648326/s/4355b7ad/sc/4/mf.gif
