As Kobt is away, killing the game in South Korea, longtime boyfriend Joel Schiffman<\/strong> is taking care of their one-year-old girl. The couple adopted her last February, and celebrated their four-year anniversary months after<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Savannah Guthrie \u2013 who is also at the 2018 Winter Olympics and missing her kids \u2014 told PEOPLE<\/em>: \u201cI think in this situation with the time change, the 17-hour flight, it just didn\u2019t make sense for the kids. We\u2019d be happy to see them, but I don\u2019t know that they\u2019d be so happy sitting around in a hotel room in the freezing cold. Admitting that she and Kotb thought about bringing their children along despite their young age, Guthrie, 46, added, \u201cI know Hoda and I both thought very seriously about bringing the kids because mostly we just don\u2019t want to be apart from them for two weeks. That\u2019s the only thing that\u2019s got our hearts aching a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, Hoda Kotb has been struggling with the idea of leaving her baby at home while she\u2019s off hosting the Olympic games in South Korea. This past January, a source close to the host revealed: \u201cHoda doesn\u2019t know what to do with her beautiful baby girl when she goes to South Korea for two weeks to host The TODAY<\/em> Show coverage of the Olympics<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShould she take the baby with her or leave her safe at home in the USA?\u201d added the insider, pointing out that Kotb never thought she\u2019d have to make such a difficult decision between her family and her career. \u201cHaley always travels with her mommy but talking a baby to South Korea for two weeks doesn\u2019t seem right.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Radar readers know, now that Kotb has taken Matt Lauer<\/a><\/strong>\u2018s job as Savannah Guthrie<\/a><\/strong>\u2018s permanent cohost, travel will become a much more frequent art of her job<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Eventually, Kotb decided to fly off with her NBC crew and leave her adorable child with her daddy. The insider said, however, that the TODAY anchor was \u201criddled with grief and [felt] terribly guilty.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clearly, she\u2019s still feeling the burn, as she recently confessed to fans that she missed her Valentine\u2019s birthday baby!<\/p>\n
