Kurt Cobain<\/a><\/strong>\u2018s daughter, Frances Bean<\/a><\/strong>, is celebrating two years of sobriety amid her family\u2019s ongoing addiction problems.<\/p>\n

This Tuesday, February 13, the 25-year-old model shared a lengthy Instagram post celebrating her achievement.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought I would start this post by using a pure moment in Oahu amongst nature, with my love,\u201d she wrote in the caption, speaking of her rocker boyfriend, Matthew Cook<\/strong>. \u201cThis moment is a representation of who I am on February 13th, 2018. It feels significant here, now because it\u2019s my 2nd sober birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n

I thought I would start this post by using a pure moment in Oahu amongst nature, with my love. This moment is a representation of who I am on February 13th, 2018. It feels significant here, now because it\u2019s my 2nd sober birthday. It\u2019s an interesting and kaleidoscopic decision to share my feelings about something so intimate in a public forum . The fact that I\u2019m sober isn\u2019t really public knowledge, decidedly and deliberately. But I think it\u2019s more important to put aside my fear about being judged or misunderstood or typecast as one specific thing. I want to have the capacity to recognize & observe that my journey might be informative, even helpful to other people who are going through something similar or different. It is an everyday battle to be in attendance for all the painful, bazaar, uncomfortable, tragic, fucked up things that have ever happened or will ever happen. Self destruction and toxic consumption and deliverance from pain is a lot easier to adhere to. Undeniably, for myself and those around me becoming present is the best decision I have ever made. How we treat our bodies directly correlates to how we treat our souls. It\u2019s all interconnected. It has to be. So I\u2019m gonna take today to celebrate my vibrant health and the abundance of happiness, gratitude, awareness, compassion, empathy, strength, fear, loss, wisdom, peace and the myriad of other messy emotions I feel constantly. They inform who I am, what my intentions are, who i want to be and they force me to acknowledge my boundaries\/limitations. I claim my mistakes as my own because I believe them to contribute to the dialogue of my higher education in life. I am constantly evolving. The moment I stop my evolution is the moment I disservice myself and ultimately those I love. As cheesy and cornball as it sounds life does get better, if you want it to. I\u2019ll never claim I know something other people don\u2019t. I only know what works for me and seeking to escape my life no longer works for me. Peace, love, empathy (I\u2019m going to reclaim this phrase and define it as something that\u2019s mine, filled with hope and goodness and health, because I want to ) Frances Bean Cobain<\/a><\/p>\n

The young visual artist \u2013 who has been looking gorgeous ad healthy while on her Hawaiian vacation with Matthew \u2013 has had to deal with both her parent\u2019s troubling drug addictions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Her mother, Courtney Love, was ordered into rehab in 2005 after years of abusing toxic substances. Then, in 2009, Frances was granted a restraining order form her<\/a>, after accusing her of taking \u201cdrugs for a long as I can remember.\u201d<\/p>\n

Courtney, 53, and Frances have always had a rocky relationship, though they recently rekindled now that they are both working towards a healthier lifestyle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Frances\u2019 famous dad, Kurt Cobain, committed suicide in 1994, when she was just 20 months old. Various outlets stated that he had high volumes of heroin and Valium in his system at the time of his OD death.<\/p>\n

The young model previously admitted that she \u201calways knew [her parents\u2019] relationship was toxic,\u201d and that she was well-aware that she was \u201ca fix-it baby.\u201d<\/p>\n

While\u2019s she\u2019s often seemed bitter about her upbringing and dark family past, it seems that these day Frances Cobain has let the negativity go, and is focusing on living her best, sober life.<\/p>\n
