Oklahoma teacher Stephanie Cowan<\/strong> is facing three counts of rape for having sex with her teenage foster son after vacationing with him in Florida, said lawmen.<\/p>\n

Cowan, a science teacher at a junior high school in Pryor, has admitted to having intimate relations<\/a> with the boy who was placed in her care by the state\u2019s Department of Human Services.<\/p>\n

Cops said the teen reported having sex with his foster mom on their way home from a holiday \u2014 and three more times after that.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe advised the first time they had sex was in his room, the \u00adsecond time was in her room and the third time was in the bathroom of her residence,\u201d Pryor \u00adPolice Department Assistant Chief James Willyard<\/strong> reports.<\/p>\n

Cowan, a first year teacher at the school, has been suspended from her position, and the boy was removed from her home.<\/p>\n

She admitted to investigators she knew the sexual relationship was wrong<\/a>, according to reports.<\/p>\n

Officials from the state said the boy was placed in Cowan\u2019s care under a contract with a private company in Kansas.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have many safeguards and checks in place to ensure safety of all the foster families we \u00adsupport,\u201d read a statement from DCCCA, which operates in \u00adKansas, \u00adOklahoma and Missouri. \u201cAll of these safeguards are not foolproof in predicting human \u00adbehavior<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n
