The 45-year-old actor has got as engaged to stunning beauty queen girlfriend<\/a> Sabrina Dhowre<\/strong>, 29, on Friday evening.<\/p>\n

The romantic hunk popped the question on stage ahead of a screening of his latest film \u2018Yardie\u2019 at Rio cinema in London.<\/p>\n

Rio cinema were quick to congratulate Idris and Sabrina on their engagement and the glamorous venue shared the couple\u2019s happy news with their Twitter followers.<\/p>\n

They posted: \u2018Another @Riocinemafirst! Still 5 days to Valentines Day but @idriselba went down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend live on stage this morning before a preview of his film #Yardie.\u2019 (sic)<\/p>\n

\u2018Yardie\u2019 is a British crime thriller and is the actor\u2019s directorial debut<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Talking about marriage Elba said last July: \u201cAm I ever gonna get remarried? I don\u2019t think so. Yeah, I don\u2019t think so. Marriage is an institution of sorts. And I\u2019ve done it. It\u2019s not for everybody. It\u2019s not my life\u2019s calling.\u201d<\/p>\n

Idris and Dhowre, who won Miss Vancouver in 2014, made their red carpet debut as a couple in September 2017<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, they had secretly been dating for seven months before going public.<\/p>\n

The star has enjoyed a series of relationships in the past \u2013 before dating Dhowre he split with make-up artist Naiyana Garth<\/strong>, with whom he shares his three-year-old son Winston.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Luther\u2019 star tied the knot with Hanne Norgaard in a romantic ceremony but their four-year marriage came to an end in 2003 with the couple having a teenage daughter Isan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Elba also found love again with property lawyer Sonya Hamlin<\/strong> in 2006 but the exes went their separate ways for good shortly after.<\/p>\n
