In view of air pollution in the capital Delhi, action is also being taken against violation of rules. According to the corporation, the MCD monitoring team has issued more than seven thousand citations against those who dump waste and litter illegally. A fine of Rs 54.98 lakh was also imposed. According to the corporation, 356 monitoring teams have been deployed at the ground level since December 1 to stop offenders and impose fines on them. These crews work to prevent air pollution. This includes rules such as burning rubbish, dumping rubbish, dumping building materials in the open and carrying out construction work. The corporation said in its statement that complaints were issued against 420 offenders who burned biomass and garbage in 12 zones. Remove Ads Read Only News These actions resulted in a fine of around Rs 11.72 lakh. Similarly, 7023 challans worth Rs 43.26 lakh were issued for illegal dumping of debris. Action against violation of Group 4: Along with this, MCD last week took action against those violating the ban on construction and demolition under Group 4 and imposed a total fine of Rs 33.95 lakh. Last week, 34 illegal jeans dyeing units violating pollution norms were sealed. While in one week 1792 sites were inspected for construction and demolition. Of these, action was taken against 771 cases where rules were found to have been broken. Even in November, MCD issued over 900 challans worth Rs 1.5 crore.
