Mumbai, November 26 (IANS). Jamshed Godrej, Managing Director (MD), Godrej & Boyce, said on Wednesday that we need to focus on creating more demand to attract more investment. Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the CII summit, Jamshed Godrej said, “Whether it is government or private investment, it just depends on whether there is demand or not. If there is demand, investors will definitely invest their capital.” The managing director of Godrej & Boyce further said that I believe that we should focus on demand. If this continues, investment will come automatically. Praising the recent GST reforms done by the government, Jamshed Godrej said that the reduction in GST rates is a step taken at the right time. The government must now also focus on doing business more easily. “Recent reforms like GST are steps in the right direction, but there are many more areas where the ease of doing business can be further improved,” he said. Earlier, at the same event, KM Nagaraju, Secretary, Department of Financial Services (DFS), said that India’s strong move towards financial inclusion and digital transformation has become one of the country’s biggest achievements in recent years. Nagaraju further said that these reforms have reshaped India’s financial structure and strengthened people’s confidence in government institutions. According to senior government officials, as a result of the government’s efforts, India’s financial inclusion index has reached 67 by March 2025, which was earlier at 64.2.
