While they\u2019re renowned for classic menu favorites like Cheeseburgers, Big Macs and Chicken McNuggets, different nations offer their own unique twists.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"mirror\">Take France, for instance \u2013 pop into a McDonald\u2019s there and you can grab a Croque McDo, a type of ham and cheese toastie. Over in Italy, meanwhile, punters can tuck into the McChicken Il Provolone.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"mirror\">So when one McDonald\u2019s enthusiast popped into a Hawaiian branch, she couldn\u2019t wait to discover how it differed from mainland America.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"mirror\">US TikTok content creator Ashley LaMarca was buzzing with excitement during her Hawaiian visit after hearing their menu was \u201ckind of different\u201d compared to the rest of the States. Scanning the unfamiliar offerings, she clocked Spam Rice and Egg for $7.39 (\u00a35.36), Sausage Portuguese Rice for $7.39 and the Local Deluxe Platter for $8.79 (\u00a36.46).<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"mirror\">She was also taken back to spot Fried Apple Pie ($2.59\/\u00a31.90), explaining that Baked Apple Pie was the norm back on the mainland. Sampling the Local Deluxe Platter, which consisted of scrambled eggs, spam, rice and Portuguese sausage, she was taken back by how \u201creally good\u201d it was.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"mirror\">\u201cI can\u2019t believe I\u2019m (eating this) at McDonald\u2019s,\u201d she expressed, awarding it a perfect 10 out of 10. \u201cI am so pleasantly surprised by this,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"mirror\">She then moved on to the Taro Pie, filled with a sweet taro paste, and declared it was \u201cfire\u201d, adding: \u201cI wish we had that,\u201d and giving it an impressive 11 out of 10. After sampling the Fried Apple Pie, she noted that frying it made it taste \u201ca million times better\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"mirror\">As for the items she ordered to compare, she found they tasted \u201cexactly the same\u201d, although she speculated that the McGriddle might be of \u201cslightly better quality\u201d than what she was accustomed to.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"mirror\">However, in the comments section, it wasn\u2019t the menu differences that caused the most shock, but rather the prices. \u201cThe prices omg,\u201d one person exclaimed, followed by a crying emoji.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"mirror\">\u201cThe prices are INSANE,\u201d chimed in another.
