{"id":207661,"date":"2020-02-23T12:06:31","date_gmt":"2020-02-23T09:06:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ww-vb.mine.nu\/w108\/samsung-electronics-confirms-coronavirus-case-at-phone\/"},"modified":"2020-02-23T12:06:31","modified_gmt":"2020-02-23T09:06:31","slug":"samsung-electronics-confirms-coronavirus-case-at-phone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hameed.nwar.uk\/sa\/samsung-electronics-confirms-coronavirus-case-at-phone\/","title":{"rendered":"Samsung Electronics confirms coronavirus case at phone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>SEOUL (Reuters) &#8211; Samsung Electronics (<span id=\"\u201dsymbol_005930.KS_0\u201d\">005930.KS<\/span>) said on Saturday that one coronavirus case had been confirmed at its mobile device factory complex in the southeastern city of Gumi, causing a shutdown of its entire facility there until Monday morning.  <\/p>\n<p>Samsung Electronics, the world\u2019s top smartphone maker, said  the floor where the infected employee worked would be shut down until the morning of Feb. 25. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe company has placed colleagues who came in contact with the infected employee in self-quarantine and taken steps to have them tested for possible infection,\u201d Samsung said in a news release. <\/p>\n<p>Samsung\u2019s factory in Gumi accounts for a small portion of its total smartphone production, and it makes high-end phones, mostly for the domestic market. Samsung produces most of its smartphones in Vietnam and India.   <\/p>\n<p>Gumi is close to the city of Daegu, home to a church at the center of South Korea\u2019s largest coronavirus outbreak.   <\/p>\n<p>South Korea said on Saturday that the number of people infected with the coronavirus in the country had more than doubled to 433.   <\/p>\n<p>Samsung said production at its chip and display factories in other parts of South Korea would not be affected. <\/p>\n<div class=\"Attribution_container\">\n<div class=\"Attribution_attribution\">\n<p class=\"Attribution_content\">Reporting by Hyunjoo Jin.
