The eldest daughter of beloved Australian cook Maggie Beer has died \u201cunexpectedly yet peacefully\u201d in her sleep at the age of 46.<\/p>\n

Saskia Beer died on Friday night, according to a social media post made by mum Maggie and dad Colin on Instagram and Facebook.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with broken hearts we need to let you all know that our beautiful, extraordinary daughter Saskia died unexpectedly yet peacefully in her sleep,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe ask for time\/space as we grapple to come to terms with our loss and appreciate all the support we have been given. Maggie, Colin and family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Saskia followed in the footsteps of her mum by launching Saskia Beer Farm Produce in South Australia\u2019s Barossa Valley in 1997 while still in her 20s.<\/p>\n

Her mum, Maggie, has been a regular on reality TV programs including MasterChef and The Great Australian Bake Off, while also leading TV shows of her own.<\/p>\n

Thousands expressed their sorrow at the Beer family\u2019s loss on social media after hearing the news.<\/p>\n
