French surfing champion Poeti Norac has died in Queensland just months after moving to Australia.<\/p>\n
The French Surfing Federation announced the devastating news on Thursday, however the circumstances around the 24-year-old\u2019s death remain unclear.<\/p>\n
\u2018HANDS ARE TIED\u2019: <\/strong>Coach cops bizarre ban over Israel Folau furore<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2018DEVASTATED\u2019: <\/strong>Former Aus Open champ cops huge doping ban<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThe surfing community has lost a family member, a beautiful person with a radiant smile, an artist on her board and whose enthusiasm radiated in the Vend\u00e9e and everywhere else,\u201d the Federation said.<\/p>\n The Federation said Norac was an “outstanding educator” who “transmitted her passion for surfing and the ocean”.<\/p>\n “A ceremony in tribute to Poeti will take place soon, the date and place of which we will communicate to you,\u201d they announced.<\/p>\n Norac had moved from France to Queensland\u2019s Sunshine Coast just a few months ago.<\/p>\n She was a rising star in French surfing, finishing second at the national championships in 2018 and third in 2016.<\/p>\n “Poeti took part in four national finals and boasted 10 French Cup victories, including the 100 percent girls one in 2017,\u201d the Federation said.<\/p>\n Norac reportedly specialised in longboard surfing and started when she was just six years old.<\/p>\n She had posted a number of photos at beaches around Queensland on her social media channels.<\/p>\nNorac had just moved to Australia<\/h2>\n
