(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Wednesday\u2019s episode of \u201cThe Masked Singer\u201d)<\/em><\/p>\n When Drew Carey signed on to compete as The Llama on Season 3 of Fox\u2019s \u201cThe Masked Singer,\u201d he was sure he wouldn\u2019t win the smash-hit singing competition \u2014 he just hoped he wouldn\u2019t be the very first one eliminated.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t expect to win. I didn\u2019t think, \u2018Oh, I could win this thing.\u2019 But I can sing OK. I\u2019m not a professional singer, but I can do something and I don\u2019t think I\u2019m gonna get voted off first,\u201d Carey told TheWrap Wednesday. \u201cAll I wanted to do is get through the first round and not get voted off and everything after that was like, \u2018OK, I\u2019m all set.’\u201d<\/p>\n Welp, he got his wish, being knocked out on Wednesday\u2019s episode \u2014 the second installment of the third season \u2014 rather than Sunday\u2019s big post-Super Bowl LIV premiere.<\/p>\n Also Read:<\/strong> ‘The Masked Singer’ Season 3 Premiere Lands 23.7 Million Viewers After Super Bowl LIV<\/p>\n But now that \u201cThe Price Is Right\u201d host knows that him being saved meant Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne was eliminated and unmasked as The Robot, he feels just terrible.<\/p>\n \u201cWas he The Robot? Oh my God! I had no idea,\u201d Carey told TheWrap Wednesday. \u201cOh, I feel horrible. Poor guy.\u201d<\/p>\n Yeah, unfortunately, we were the ones who broke the news to the comedian, who spoke with us ahead of tonight\u2019s episode, in which he performs Tom Jones\u2019 \u201cIt\u2019s Not Unusual\u201d as part of the five remaining contestants in Season 3\u2019s Group A, before being booted from the competition.<\/p>\n Also Read:<\/strong> ‘The Masked Singer’ Season 3: Here Are Fans’ Best Guesses for Costumed Celebrities<\/p>\n And the reason Carey didn\u2019t know the identity of The Robot until we told him this morning was because a) \u201cThe Masked Singer\u201d contestants are not allowed to interact on set and never know who else is competing on the show until each one is unmasked as the episodes air and b) watching Sunday\u2019s premiere was an awkward experience for him that ended before the hour\u2019s big Weezy reveal.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen the show came on after the Super Bowl, I had a bunch of people over,\u201d Carey told us. \u201cLike, I definitely don\u2019t know who anybody else on the show is, they keep that secret from you, you\u2019re not allowed to interact. So I knew it was The Robot [who got eliminated], but I never knew who The Robot was. And then my friends wanted to watch it and we watched a little bit of it and I was like, \u2018Oh my God, I can\u2019t watch this show with my friends over.’\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSo we watched the first performance The White Tiger, and then I had to pretend, I was like, \u2018Can we watch something else? I get it. The show\u2019s not that great.\u2019 (laughs)<\/em>,\u201d he continued. \u201cI had to go through all that just to get them to change the channel to watch a movie. He also said his day job is actually one of the reasons he decided to do \u201cThe Masked Singer.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou know, I have this crazy career going on and I\u2019m at this point where I love doing \u2018The Price Is Right,\u2019 but anything to get outside and do something extra as a goof is fun to me,\u201d he said. \u201cI get to do something different and I thought, \u2018Oh, this would be good advertising for \u2018The Price Is Right,\u2019 \u2019cause they have kinda the same demographics.
