{"id":158679,"date":"2019-09-10T04:35:48","date_gmt":"2019-09-10T01:35:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ww-vb.mine.nu\/w108\/the-next-iphone-may-not-have-reverse-wireless-charging-for-your-airpods-after-all\/"},"modified":"2019-09-10T04:35:48","modified_gmt":"2019-09-10T01:35:48","slug":"the-next-iphone-may-not-have-reverse-wireless-charging-for-your-airpods-after-all","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hameed.nwar.uk\/sa\/the-next-iphone-may-not-have-reverse-wireless-charging-for-your-airpods-after-all\/","title":{"rendered":"The next iPhone may not have reverse wireless charging for your AirPods after all"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p id=\"7UB1AK\">With less than 24 hours remaining until Apple reveals the iPhone 11 \u2014 or whatever they might be named \u2014 the most trusted source of Apple rumors is backing away from his prediction that they\u2019ll include reverse wireless charging that would let you use <em>your phone <\/em>to top up your wirelessly charging AirPods case.<\/p>\n<p id=\"GxwXNh\">Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo isn\u2019t saying quite yet that the feature has been definitively axed \u2014 but that it may have been ditched because the \u201ccharging efficiency may not meet Apple\u2019s requirements,\u201d according to <em>9to5Mac<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p id=\"OFKoBd\">If so, it wouldn\u2019t be the first time in recent memory that Apple\u2019s had trouble bringing wireless charging up to its standards; Apple got a rare black eye this spring when it abruptly canceled its publicly announced AirPower charging pad after multiple delays. That\u2019s in spite of Apple\u2019s top competitors Samsung and Huawei both including the feature in flagship phones. <\/p>\n<div class=\"c-float-right\">\n<aside id=\"QswBU0\"><q>Did the feature die alongside AirPower, or more recently?<\/q><\/aside>\n<\/div>\n<p id=\"RSWHqe\">Charging efficiency <em>is<\/em> important, though; if users expect to be able to tap two Apple devices together and have them charge each other by a meaningful amount in a meaningfully short period of time, that efficiency needs to be high \u2014 and that\u2019s not always a given when we\u2019re talking about beaming power through the air using inductive coils.<\/p>\n<p id=\"1W7HHE\">Generally, wireless charging has lagged pretty far behind wired charging in speed, which is why the <em>other<\/em> thing Kuo is now predicting makes a lot of sense: the two high-end iPhones will reportedly now ship with an 18W USB-C fast charger (and presumably a USB-C to Lightning cable) in the box, instead of the slow 5W charger that Apple\u2019s been previously ridiculed for. He says the inexpensive iPhone XR\u2019s successor will still include that slow charger, though.<\/p>\n<p id=\"w2xBB3\">It\u2019s worth noting that Kuo isn\u2019t the only one to predict the new iPhones would come with reverse wireless charging, and so he\u2019s not the only one who may end up wrong: as we previously wrote, both <em>Bloomberg<\/em> and Japanese blog <em>Macotakara<\/em> predicted the same thing.
