CITY \u2013 An event aimed at helping parents and caregivers make sure their child\u2019s car seat is properly installed and in good condition will be held this week.<\/p>\n<p>The Children\u2019s Hospital, Oklahoma State Department of Health and Safe Kids Oklahoma City Metro coalition have partnered for a free \u201cCar Seat Checkup\u201d event.<\/p>\n<p>Technicians will remove each car seat, examine it and make sure it hasn\u2019t been expired or recalled. They will also ensure the seat fastens correctly and overhaul the seat\u2019s harnessing so it fits the child.<\/p>\n<p>The car seat checks will be conducted by employees of The Children\u2019s Hospital and Oklahoma State Department of Health who have undergone training to become certified nationally as Child Passenger Safety Technicians.<\/p>\n<p>The event will be offered the second Tuesday of every month and launches in September to observe Child Passenger Safety Month.<\/p>\n<p>It is open to the community at The Children\u2019s Hospital from 9 a.m. to noon in the drive-through area on the east side of the hospital, 1200 Everett Drive, on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>[ad_2]<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/kfor.com\/2019\/09\/09\/car-seat-safety-free-checkup-to-be-held-in-oklahoma-city\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[ad_1] Laura Gamino, RN, MPH, coordinator for Adult and Pediatric Injury Prevention at OU Medicine and coordinator for Safe Kids Oklahoma City Metro, is among several people who will conduct car seat checkups on Sept. 10.
