In the lead-up to Ireland\u2019s national holiday on 17 March, the month is dedicated to promote Irish culture, community and commerce and will showcase Irish animation, craft, music, dance, art, sport, literature and Irish hospitality. Highlights include a festival of crafts from 2-11 March, a Flvours of Ireland night on 8 March and the Hong Kong St Patrick\u2019s Day Parade on 11 March. The ball is a fundraiser for charities Hope of the City and Valleys Kids, both of which support underprivileged families. A diverse range of local and international children\u2019s book writers and illustrators will take part. Hong Kong\u2019s finest makers and sellers will be offering arts, crafts and other special goods with about 140 different vendors taking part, attracting about 2000 visitors. Make a day trip to DB on the ferry with the markets located in the DB main plaza, just a short walk from the ferry pier. Visitors can see top chefs, such as London\u2019s Bubbledogs restaurant led by Sandia Chang and husband James Knapett, as well as Sydney\u2019s Black Star Pastry patisserie, led by the Christopher Th\u00e9. The Paw by the Sea 2017 exhibition will transform Stanley Plaza and Murray House nearby into art galleries to become the Hong Kong\u2019s first art exhibition designed for dogs. Emerging local artists have depicted five paintings from a dog\u2019s colour spectrum to create a visual experience for dogs and their owners. There will also be a number of other events to complement the exhibition, including a display of architecture designed for dogs, a car installation to create the experience of car travel for canines and talks on dog training and nutrition. There will also be a doggie carnival on 19 March and a pop-up cafe with dog latte art. Now in its fourth edition, last year\u2019s fair welcomed over 32,000 international collectors, curators and art enthusiasts. Work from both established and emerging artists from 242 galleries and 34 countries will be exhibited. The Hong Kong edition acts as a hub for artists and galleries with half of the participating galleries coming from Asia and Asia-Pacific. It provides a portal to the region\u2019s artists, but also offers galleries from around the world a platform for bringing their highest quality work to Asia.
