Antoni Porowski<\/strong><\/a>, the food expert on Netflix\u2019s Queer Eye<\/em><\/strong> reboot, has received some criticism for how basic some of his recipes are and now he\u2019s responding to the social media chatter.<\/p>\n The 33-year-old chef, who was once original Queer Eye <\/em>food expert Ted Allen<\/strong>\u2018s personal chef and assistant, says that the recipes are so simple as he\u2019s teaching them to beginners.<\/p>\n \u201cI remember the first episode I went in and literally did a three-course meal with multiple components and I was thinking \u2018Yes, I\u2019m going to show off my skills here and this is going to be a full on cooking show,\u2019\u201d Antoni<\/strong> told People<\/a><\/em>. \u201cBut what I realized is that it\u2019s the simple little things. This guy had never really prepared a meal for himself.\u201d<\/p>\n The recipe that Antoni<\/strong> taught the man on the first episode was guacamole using avocado, cilantro, lime juice, and greek yogurt. He added, \u201cThis is somebody who\u2019s never seen the inside of an avocado. Like that\u2019s what we\u2019re dealing with.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe have to be realistic,\u201d Antoni<\/strong> continued. \u201cI\u2019m not going to completely change this person\u2019s way of life in such a short amount of time, but just show that there are healthier options. You may not have access to this amazing farmer\u2019s market the way we do in New York or L.A.\u201d<\/p>\n
