Bellamy Young<\/strong><\/a> has released an apology to Ryan Seacrest<\/strong><\/a> after she said that the television personality should not host the upcoming Oscars pre-show amid allegations made against him.<\/p>\n

The longtime E! Live from the Red Carpet<\/em> host was exonerated of the claims against him, but his accuser just came forward with detailed accusations <\/a>against Seacrest<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Young<\/strong> was put on the spot by Variety<\/em>, the same outlet that first published the accusations, and asked to give her opinion on a story<\/a> she hadn\u2019t yet heard about. She said that Ryan<\/strong> should step aside from the red carpet show amid the claims.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have an apology to make,\u201d Bellamy<\/strong> told THR<\/a><\/em> in a statement. \u201cOn Monday night on the red carpet, I spoke on record about something I had no first hand knowledge of. I trusted that the information that the journalist provided me with was complete, and I gave my general opinion based on the information he provided. The world is changing quickly right now, and many of us have been affected by this issue: I spoke up because I feel deeply that the secrecy of shame plays a significant part in what has kept this shift from happening before now.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cBut never has there been a more urgent time to make sure our voices are used for truth, and I failed in that regard Monday night. Our words matter. Our word matters. I apologize to Ryan Seacrest<\/strong>. He has been exonerated from the allegations I was told about on the carpet, so my opinion is different now. I just want to clarify that anyone who uses my quote going forward is using the quote of an uninformed person and fanning the flames of a non-story by making use of an unwitting accomplice. I\u2019ve learned that \u2018I don\u2019t know\u2019 can be a complete answer. I will do better next time.\u201d<\/p>\n
