However, the space agency <a href=\"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/in\/2019\/07\/15\/indias-ambitious-chandrayaan-2-launch-delayed-due-to-technical-snag\/\">found a \u201ctechnical snag\u201d in the assembly<\/a>, and decided to delay the launch. If the landing is successful, India will become the fourth country after the US, Russia, and China to perform a soft landing on the lunar surface.<\/p>\n<p>The assembly will soft-land between\u00a0<span>Manzinus C and Simpelius N craters, at a latitude of about 70\u00b0 south. ISRO aims to study the lunar surface near the south pole to discover the possibility of the presence of water.
