Whether you\u2019re looking for that hilarious joke you tweeted last year, or worried that some of your old tweets might contain embarrassing information, there are several ways to go about finding you old posts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In fact, you can reacquaint yourself with the first tweet relatively easily (spoiler: it doesn\u2019t involve scrolling through countless times).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With this in mind, we\u2019ve put together a handy guide to help you re-discover your timeline.<\/span><\/p>\n

Twitter\u2019s advanced search<\/h2>\n

To use Twitter\u2018s search function, you\u2019ll have to login to your\u00a0account, and go to\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>advanced search page<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Under the \u201cPeople\u201d subheading, enter your username (omit the \u201c@\u201d) into the \u201cFrom these accounts\u201d field.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then, select the start and end dates and click search. This should return a list of top tweets from that period.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Twitter\u2018s \u2018Advanced Search\u2019 is a nifty tool.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

If you want to see every tweet sent during that period, then click on the \u201cLatest\u201d tab. Once you do this, you should get a list of every tweet sent between the dates you specified.<\/p>\n

If, like me, your memory is pants, and you can\u2019t remember when you sent the tweet, try and narrow down your search in terms of keywords, using the advanced\u00a0search functions under the \u201cWords\u201d subheading.<\/p>\n

Requesting your archive<\/h2>\n

If you want to be really thorough, you can actually request a full archive from Twitter itself.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To do so, go to your Settings and scroll some more to \u201cYour Twitter Data,\u201d which will take you to a new screen where you may have to input your password. Once that\u2019s done, scroll down until you see \u201cDownload your Twitter data,\u201d and click \u201cRetrieve data.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a>It\u2019s as easy as going into \u201cSettings\u201d and clicking \u201cYour Twitter data.\u201d<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Once you\u2019ve done this, you\u2019ll receive an email with your Twitter archive. Mine took about 10 minutes to arrive.<\/p>\n

Use an app<\/h2>\n

Services such as AllMyTweets also allow you to get a copy of every tweet you\u2019ve ever sent.<\/p>\n

Visit\u00a0<\/span>https:\/\/www.allmytweets.net\/<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>and sign in using your Twitter account.<\/p>\n

Enter the username you\u2019d like to look up old tweets for and wait until all your tweets load neatly into one page.<\/p>\n

TwineMachine<\/a> also works in a similar way.<\/p>\n

So, there you have it. Looking through your all tweets is not as difficult as you think and it definitely shouldn\u2019t take long to do.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
