The production marks Phillips\u2019 third collaboration with NYTW, following <i data-rte2-sanitize=\"italic\">\u00a1El Conquistador! <\/i>in 2006 and <i data-rte2-sanitize=\"italic\">Red Eye to Havre de Grace <\/i>in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>In <i data-rte2-sanitize=\"italic\">17 Border Crossings, <\/i>Phillips examines the imaginary lines that divide the world and the very real barriers they create.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning with a man at a desk on an empty stage, the solo play<i data-rte2-sanitize=\"italic\"> <\/i>takes the audience around the world\u2014from invasive body searches at Charles de Gaulle and ayahuasca experiments in the Amazon, to KFC-smuggling in Palestine and run-ins with Ace of Base on Croatian ferries.<\/p>\n<p>The Off-Broadway production, directed by Tatiana Mallarino,
