Filmmaker Kevin Smith<\/strong> is a lucky man after surviving what he called a \u201cmassive\u201d heart attack on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

The Clerks director revealed the near-death experience early Monday morning from his Twitter account.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack,\u201d Smith wrote. \u201cThe Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka \u201cthe Widow-Maker\u201d).\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I hadn\u2019t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would\u2019ve died tonight. But for now, I\u2019m still above ground!\u201d<\/p>\n

Smith was referring to the two performances of \u201cKevin Smith Live!\u201d he had scheduled at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, California. His first performance was at 6 pm. and the second was at 9 p.m., according to the theatre\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Smith shared the scary news on the social networking site along with a selfie from his hospital bed. The director appeared in shock as he had wide eyes and tubes around his face.<\/p>\n
