The son of a \u201cStreet Outlaws\u201d star has been charged after injuring two people during a drag race in Houston, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Ronald Gray Pace III \u2014 the son of Ronnie \u201cBarefoot\u201d Pace from the Discovery Channel reality TV show \u2014 is facing two counts of felony street racing causing serious bodily injury in connection to a March 17 crash on a public road in northwest Harris County, sheriff officials announced Tuesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n Two men were seriously injured during the incident, which took place when street-racing aficionados flooded the greater Houston area for the three-day TX2K19 racing event in nearby Baytown.<\/p>\n Authorities said Pace lost control of his vehicle during the illegal street race, leaving two pedestrians with broken bones and other significant injuries, KHOU reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThese injuries are horrific,\u201d prosecutor Sean Teare told the station. \u201cIn fact, I am shocked that these two young men were able to survive.\u201d<\/p>\n The second driver in the race has not yet been identified, but he\u2019s expected to face charges as well, authorities said.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m here to tell you, street racing is a terrible scourge on this community and this entire country,\u201d Teare continued. \u201cDeaths occur every time people decided to do this and we\u2019re going to stop it in Harris County.\u201d<\/p>\n If convicted, Pace faces up to 20 years in prison.
